The Copyright Registration Department of China Copyright Protection Center is responsible for the copyright registration of various works by copyright owners at home and abroad. In 2020, the number of works registered by the China Copyright Protection Center (hereinafter referred to as "the number of works registration") was 240,550 pieces/series, involving 290,693 works, a year-on-year increase of 3%. Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the growth rate of works registration this year has slowed down, and the number of works registration and the volume of works involved are basically the same as last year. The Copyright Registration Department has done a good job in the transition and convergence of the second and third phases of the registration system, and made timely adjustments and reasonable arrangements for all links of the registration work. It will not relax the requirements in terms of quality as before and increase in volume month by month. The number of work registrations reached the peak of monthly registrations in December, an increase of nearly 120% over the same period last year.
Among the various types of works registered by the China Copyright Protection Center in 2020, fine art works account for 89% of the total registration, 5% text works, 2% works created by movies and similar film methods, 2% other works, 1% musical works, and others Various types of works (dramatic works, oral works, folk art works, dance works, acrobatics works, photographic works, architectural works, graphic works, model works, audio and video products, etc.) account for 1% of the total. This year, the number of registrations of fine art works was relatively large, accounting for nearly 90%, a year-on-year increase of 4%; the registration volume of works created by film and similar filming methods increased by 23% year-on-year, and the registration volume of other types of works was basically the same as last year or slightly decreased.
In 2020, in the domestic and foreign work registrations of the China Copyright Protection Center, domestic registrations accounted for 97% of the total number of registrations, and foreign registrations 3%, basically unchanged from last year.
In the regional distribution of central registrations in various provinces, cities and regions in China, Guangdong Province, which ranks first, accounts for 19%, and the proportions of provinces, cities and regions ranked second to tenth range from 9% to 2%, and combined registration accounts for Than nearly 70%.
In the regional distribution of foreign registrations, the top three are Japan, the United States, and South Korea. The combined registrations account for nearly 50%, showing the characteristics of concentration in a few countries.
